Welcome to Facsimile! Nearly fifty years ago, the world was destroyed by the Storm. What was a world-spanning megalopolis fell as its very power source turned against it. In the wake of the devastating Cataclysm, the mysterious power of Oneirum, the strange energy mined from the depths of outer space formed into the Storm. With the Storm came the advent of uncontrolled magical power that rendered the world unrecognizable, as new lands sprung from nothingness to replace many of the derelict cities. Great monstrosities trample over ancient ruins, spawned from the wrath of the Storm and the Oneirum that wreaks its revenge upon its former masters. Yet humanity remains, struggling to survive in the last remnants of their civilization. Synthetics, freed from the shackles placed upon their minds by their creators, roam the world with sentient minds. Aberrants, the spawn of the Storm, lie few in number granted minds of their own, as many of their cousins remain embroiled in their runaway Legends. Yet despite the dangers beyond the Walls, all desire for the promise of riches to be discovered. As the conditions in the Cities slowly decay, with the Walls themselves slowly rusting and falling to disrepair, it is beyond the Walls that people now look once more.
