With a temporary truce, the four original clans divide their journey into shifts for hunting and resting, bonding along the way and even accepting rogues into their ranks. Some of the leadership positions crumble under the stress, leading to unrest and doubt. Many do not make it to the end. After weeks of searching, they find a suitable home and decide to split once more, each clan voting for their new clan and leadership. Dawnclan, Sunclan, Duskclan, and Moonclan, the journeys' shifts, emerge from this, but tensions arise. Some question the loyalty of those who left their original clans, while the new borders test relationships of those that stayed. Meanwhile, outsiders observe with curiosity or concern. Loners and rogues might resent the clans for claiming territory, while nearby kittypets wonder about their intentions. As the clans adapt to their new home, they face many strange and new dangers.
