The island's existence is known to very few, and magical enchantments ancient as the island itself shield it from the outside world. The small society within is built up of people from all over the realm, united under one cause: a life outside of the political turmoil that plagues the rest of the realm. Whether they are escaping an illegal way of life, refugees of an unkind world, or simply looking to escape their old lives, the select few people who find themselves within the town are welcomed and their pasts are set aside. Under the surface, though, the land of Willowdale holds great secrets. Ruins on the outskirts of town, a patch of scarred land that seems unable to be healed, the mysterious language scarred into the dirt around the island that presumably holds the magical key to the protections of the island, and much, much more indicate a rich history and a conspiracy that no one in the town, or even in the world still alive, could have ever anticipated. The more that is uncovered, the more the island seems to beg to have its story told and unearthed. Who knows what lies beneath the surface? Whether you would like to uncover the mysteries of the sleepy town, seek answers to your own past, or simply find a reprieve from your old life, Willowdale welcomes you. Humans can use qi for a great deal of things, but in today's day and age, the biggest use for it is hunting down stray demons. Humans used qi in creative ways, some could create fire out of it, others heal wounds, some increase their physical capabilities. Its usages are countless. Despite every human now having a bit of demon blood in their body, there are certain individuals, usually offspring of stronger demons, who harness an interesting trait- **An infernal engine.** Infernal engines are purest of demonic essence, this trait makes an individual's heart look different, it's greyish, bigger and sturdier than normal human hearts, having a metallic feel to it. These hearts beat faster and stronger than human hearts, making individual's blood flow faster and stronger, making these individuals faster and stronger. It also gives individuals a bigger qi pool, allowing them to use techniques that are far more advanced. With the onslaught of demons clawing closer and closer by the day, it is up to whoever humanity can call its saviour to come and defeat the originators, the Princes of Hell- once and forever. A never-ending cycle would begin, unwilling actors fighting with their lives on the line, with the world of humans as their stage. All for the sake of entertainment. One might break this cycle, or it will continue until the wheel crumbles.
