The world changed with the appearance of rifts in the 'Ingress Incidence'. In the mid-1830s, space tore rapidly in many different places across the Earth. Those rifts led to new worlds or even partially merged with Earth in a myriad of manifestations. No one quite knew what to make of these tears, confusion and fascination alike abound. Eventually, people finally began to adjust to the presence of the rifts, coming to refer to them casually. New species, advanced magics and technologies, and other phenomena emerged and integrated into the world… Though it was not without difficulty and painful adjustment with their abuse bringing about devastating consequences that would serve as reminders for years to come. In the year 2030, the mystery of the rifts still intrigues scientists as they work to study the origins of those gateways. Anyone could wander into a rift to explore the world beyond or they could enter into a Terran area that has completely been merged with a new world to form a unique landscape.
