It started out small. A few isolated cases here and there, some mutated strain that gave humans the same symptoms of, say, a rabid fox or raccoon; aggression, frothing at the mouth, hydrophobia... but it was controlled. That's what they told us, it was controlled; there was nothing to worry about. We'd be fine. It's been a few years, we can't remember how many. But we're still waiting for the control they've been talking about. We've lost our minds.
